Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Meisong Lai is the Company’s founder and has served as its chairman of the board of directors since 2013 and chief executive officer since the Company’s inception. Mr. Lai is the deputy chairman of the China Express Delivery Association. Mr. Lai is a prominent figure in China’s express delivery industry and has been deeply involved in the industry for over 15 years. Mr. Lai is currently attending “Lakeside University,” a senior executive training program founded by Jack Ma, founder and chairman of Alibaba Group.
Director and Vice President of Infrastructure Management
Mr. Jilei Wang has been the Company’s director since 2013 and its vice president of infrastructure management since October 2012. From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Wang served as a deputy general manager of the Company’s then network partner in Beijing.
Director and General Manager of Guangdong Province
Mr. Xiangliang Hu has been the Company’s director since 2013 and its general manager of Guangdong province since January 2012. Mr. Hu served as a general manager of the Company’s then network partner in Beijing from January 2006 to December 2011.
Director and General Manager of Beijing Municipality
Mr. Baixi Lan has been the Company’s director since 2013 and its general manager of operations in Beijing since 2012. Mr. Lan was the Company’s head of line-haul operations from 2010 to 2012. Prior to 2012, Mr. Lan served in a number of managerial positions in ZTO.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. James Jianmin Guo has served as the Company’s chief financial officer since March 2016. Prior to joining ZTO, Mr. Guo served as the chief financial officer of Zhaopin Ltd., a NYSE-listed company, from January 2010 to February 2016. Mr. Guo also served as finance director of Xinyuan Real Estate Co., Ltd, a NYSE-listed company, from July 2007 to June 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Guo worked at the Toronto office of Deloitte Inc. from 2005 to 2007 as a consulting manager of its strategy and operation division. From 1993 to 2002, Mr. Guo was an auditor, and then an audit manager and a senior audit manager in the China office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Guo was qualified as a certified public accountant in China, a certified internal auditor and a certified information systems auditor. Mr. Guo received his MBA degree with distinction from Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada, in 2005 and his bachelor’s degree from Shenzhen University in China in 1993.
Vice President of Overseas Operations
Mr. Jianchang Lai has been the Company’s Vice President of Overseas Operations since September 2016. From 2014 to 2016, Mr. Lai was a director of the Company from 2014 to September 2016 and was head of network partner management from ZTO’s inception to September 2016. Mr. Jianchang Lai is a brother-in-law to Mr. Meisong Lai, and a cousin to Mr. Jianfa Lai.
Vice President of Information Technology
Mr. Jingxi Zhu has been the Company’s head of Information Technology since its inception and Vice President of Information Technology since September 2016. From 2014 to September 2016, Mr. Zhu was also a director of the Company. Mr. Zhu received a bachelor’s degree in management from Nanjing Army Command College in China in 2014 and an associate degree from Yancheng Teachers University in China in 2003.
Vice President of Operations and Director
Mr. Jianfa Lai has served as the Company’s director since 2013 and Vice President of Operations since January 2018. Me. Lai was previously an executive vice president in charge of the ZTO’s overall daily management since the Company’s inception to August 2016. Starting in August 2016, Mr. Jianfa Lai began serveing as the executive director of ZTO Supply Chain Management Co. Ltd., an equity investee in the Company, which is engaged in the provision of less-than-truckload transportation services in China. Mr. Jianfa Lai is attending the executive MBA program at Fudan University in China.
Vice President of Public Relations
Mr. Jianfeng Zhang has served as the Company’s vice president of public relations since February 2016. Mr. Zhang served as the general manager of the news information center of Xinhua News Agency in the Shanghai office from July 2006 to August 2010 and as the deputy director of the images center of Xinhua News Agency from August 2010 to February 2016. Mr. Zhang also served as the assistant director of the news information center of Xinhua News Agency in the Shanghai office from June 2012 to February 2016. Mr. Zhang received a master’s degree in arts from Renmin University in China in 2012 and a bachelor’s degree in law from Shanghai International Studies University in China in 2006.
Vice President of Finance
Ms. Huiping Yan has served as the Company’s Vice President of Finance since January 2018. Prior to joining ZTO, Ms. Yan spent approximately 7 years serving as the chief financial officer of a number of Chinese TMT and hospitality companies including 2 years at Cainiao Network Technology, the logistics arm of Alibaba Inc. (NYSE:BABA), and over 4 years at Home Inns & Hotels Management, a leading economy hotel chain in China. Prior to that, Ms. Yan spent 11 years at General Electric Company (GE) in both the U.S. and Asia, serving in a number of key roles in corporate and operational financial management. Prior to that, Ms. Yan spent over 6 years at Deloitte & Touche in the U.S. in tax services. Ms. Yan studied at Shanghai International Studies University and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an accounting major from Hawaii Pacific University. Ms. Yan graduated from the GE experienced finance leadership program and is a U.S.-certified public accountant with a CGMA designation (AICPA).
